Meeting the Dog Whisperer - Long Island Dog Boarding

Tonight I joined my friends Rick Caran and Jilli Dog at the Book Revue in Huntington, Long Island to see Cesar Millan aka The Dog Whisperer. The event was heavily attended--the book store was packed. His newest book sold out- over 600 copies were sold tonight. Unfortunately I arrived late and could not get even close enough to hear him speak or even see him through the crowds. I brought Kumpa my 4 pound Yorkie-- dressed up in her finest outfit by Doggie Design. We sat outside and watched the crowd that had gathered, many accompanied by their canine companions. Ceasar was very warm and gracious to all who attended. I was impressed with his kindness and patience with all the people who wanted to have a moment with him. He must have signed hundreds of books tonight. At the end of the event, Rick was able to have a moment alone with Cesar and introduce him to little Jilli Dog. Here a short video I was able to take of their meeting. It is good to see that Jilli Dog is healing from the injuries she suffered from a recent attack by a large dog. Unfortunately, the nerves in her left eye seem to have been permanently damaged. It is five weeks later, she still can not close her eye lid and needs to have salve applied several times a day to protect it and provide moisture. She is not quite herself yet, but we all hope for the best for this little girl! She still loves to perform though so her spirit is intact!
